Today's blood work went fairly well. We got to the lab and Levi's potty watch had gone off in the car. We hurried right in to the potty and had a successful trip. Then we went over to the lab and put our name on the list. There was a line in front of us again. Looked like there was lots of people but there was actually only one in front of us, so the wait wasn't too bad. Everyone waiting was very talkative this morning. There was a young boy (maybe 7 or 8) and his mom waiting. They were wearing masks and Levi was very curious. The mom was very talkative and told us that the boy was going through chemotherapy and that they wanted to keep him healthy. The boy and Levi "talked" a little, it was sweet. We wished them good luck and they thanked us. Then there was a lady waiting for her husband and she was very talkative about her grandson. We even got to see pictures. He was a cutie.
Working on our selfie again! |
Finally it was our turn. We headed right in and got our band-aid. Levi picked candy again. He really likes his candy crush. Nice nurse and I had a little conversation while she was prepping everything about having to possibly drive to Lebanon tonight. Levi was very very squirmy today and did not want mommy to hold his hand out at all. Nice Nurse ended up missing his vein again and Levi got a little upset, but she got it in and Levi watched the vial fill. He barely waited for his band-aid to be put on before he was off to the treasure box. He sorted through several things before finally settling on a yellow gummy/squishy frog, was definitely not a favorite choice of mommy's and some how we managed to "lose it" in mommy's car.
We stopped at the fountain on the way out and then were on our way to daycare.
We had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow since three weeks ago, but with his numbers staying so high we were unsure if we were going to keep this appointment or push it off to the end of the week. I started calling to get his numbers at 10am as we would need to make plans if we were going to keep his appointment. Receptionist S in all her lovely people skills grumpily put me through to K's voicemail. I left the nicest message I could. By 11:15 I still hand't heard so I called back. Receptionist S seemed even happier to hear from me the second time, and just told me that she would give K my message as she was busy. Finally K called us back around 11:30. Levi's count was 205. Still a great number, however Dr. V still wanted us to come out to get an infusion tomorrow to keep our schedule of every three weeks on track.
I called Jay and told him I would make him a deal. If he called Receptionst S back to attempt to move the appointment to earlier in the day (they had auto scheduled us for 11:30 which doesn't really work well for Levi) then I would call David's House and see if I could get us a room. He took the deal (he definitely got the worse end) and we both went to make our phone calls. The earliest appointment they had was 9:30, not the best, but more doable then 11:30, and David's House had a room. So our evening plans are set.
I looked out the window and realized that our streak is remaining. The weather is crummy! I don't think we have made the drive to Lebanon yet without being in some sort of bad weather. Someday it will actually get nice out, for now apparently Mother Nature and Father Time are in a fight.
P.S. Check out Levi's new book corner! He loves it!!
