August 24 - Blood Work
Blood work this morning went as smooth as could be. Levi was in a great mood. He went right in to pick out his band-aid. Climbed right up into the chair to open his band-aid, held out his little arm and got his blood taken without any concern!
After the blood was taken he headed to the treasure box and selected 2 bottles of bubbles! He was very excited about them! And we were off to school!
The hours came and went and still we had no counts. By 3:00 we were getting very annoyed. We had just gone to wait and see and we aren't getting the fax with counts?! We called Dr. V's office and they didn't have the fax either. Seriously?! It's a stat lab taken at 8:00 in the morning. We called the lab and they gave us the run around. Putting us on hold, hanging up on us, putting us to medical records (who doesn't even get results for 5-7 days after a test is taken) just all very frustrating. By 5:00 we had to give up on getting results as the lab had closed for the day. When we still didn't have results the next day we were ticked! I sent some nasty e-mails to the hospital that go no response. Since his counts had been high and he just had an infusion I attempted to not stress too much.
On Monday morning Jay went to work and lo and behold there were the results on the fax machine. They had come in on Saturday morning! Really?!? Saturday?!?! From a stat lab on Thursday?! That's ridiculous! Anyways as expected his counts were great at 268.
Next plan: Blood Work again on the 31st!
