January 1-2 - David's House

January 1-2 - David's House

Since today was a holiday we were able to head out to David's House whenever we wanted to. Because of the holiday's it made more sense for Jay to stay home as he has missed a lot of work lately and his boss is out of town and that makes him the right hand man/first in command. So Grammie was coming to Davids House with Levi and mommy! YAY! We love having Grammie tag along with us.

The drive to David's House was quiet and passed fairly quickly. Levi watched his movie and Grammie and I talked. We got to David's House around 4pm and got checked into the Pig room. David's House still had their Christmas tree set up in the lobby and had lots of presents underneath it. Levi was allowed to pick a present from under the tree. He was very excited and picked this colorful car elevator and ramp that came with four cars and four balls.
We headed upstairs to our room and settled in and Levi played with his car ramp for awhile. The cars really come shooting off of the end of the ramp and Grammie and I were busy hunting down balls and cars that went shooting under the beds and bureaus. It was fun to hunt them down and we ended up finding a cord that was ours under a bed from the last time we were here. Levi was so excited to find it because it was his green light up cord for his tablet!!!
Then Levi started complaining that he was hungry. There was no food at David's House so we decided to head down to the fort. We also needed gas in my car. We headed down and got gas and then went inside and found a sign on the door that the Fort was closed due to frozen pipes!! It really is cold out there! At that point I was stuck, I don't know of anything else really around so I asked the gentleman at the gas station. He said to head up to exit 20 (about 5 minutes away) and that there is tons of stuff up there. We headed up there and sure enough there are lots and lots of things up there. Multiple restaurants, fast food, stores, gas stations, it's quite the strip! We drove both ways and looked at what was around and ended up going to Applebees.
Levi struggled with sitting at the restaurant and eating his food. We had been in the car a lot, he was hangry, and they were slow. But in the end we all ended up getting some pretty yummy food and feeling better. We headed back to David's House and on the way my low tire pressure light came on. That's not good. I have never put air in tires before, guess this will be a new experience. I drove a little slower to Davids House and we parked the car for the night. We will deal with the tires tomorrow if they are still low.

We got back to David's House and Levi put on his PJs because his pants were wet from having jumped in the puddles and fallen down in the snow. Then we headed downstairs to play! Levi had a blast having Grammie (and it had to be Grammie, Mommy was not allowed to do it) build towers at the end of the slide so that he could knock them down. His PJs were super slippery and he went flying down the slide and was laughing and giggling.
After we had slid for awhile we headed over and played foosball. Grammie and Levi were on one side and I was on the other. The two of them were really good and kicked my bum! Then Levi saw the "Earth" and wanted us to bring it down and show it to him. So we brought down the globe and started showing Levi where we lived and where Santa lived and a few other things like that.
Then Levi asked to play games. I was hesitant because the games tend to not be the most toddler appropriate, but there seemed to be a few new ones. We played connect 4 twice. Levi was really good at that. Then we found "Count Your Chickens!" and "Hoot Owl Hoot!" They were great toddler games and Levi did awesome playing them and having fun.
Levi was starting to lose it. I looked up at the clock and was shocked that it was only 7:30! I wasn't quite sure what we were going to do to keep him entertained for the next 90 minutes. And not quite sure how time was moving so slow. I happened to glance at my phone instead of the clock and realized that it was 8:45! Ahh, that makes much more sense, apparently their clock was off. We headed upstairs and grabbed a few Elephant and Piggy books on the way and went up to get ready for bed. Levi picked who was reading which Elephant and Piggy book and snuggled in with us to hear the stories.

Then he snuggled into his bed and Grammie and I headed out to the hallway to make sure he fell asleep. It didn't take long before he was out cold. Grammie and I headed downstairs to the living room to relax for a few, but realized that it was really really cold down there with all the windows, so it wasn't long before we headed upstairs to snuggle into our beds where it was warm.

The night went fairly well, but Levi did wake up a few times and ping pong between beds. At one point he was sweaty so we turned the heat down in the room. He did then nicely sleep until 7:00!

He woke up and we lounged in the room for a few minutes and he played on his tablet.
Then we headed downstairs for breakfast. The kitchen was very empty! I was able to find some apple sauce for Levi and thankfully we had his chocolate milk from last night, but that was it. There was no cereal, no milk, no bread, no granola bars. We all set in the ice cream room and helped Levi eat breakfast.

Then we headed upstairs to get dressed and ready to head over to the hospital. We all bundled up as warm as possible as it was -12 degrees F outside! My car was not happy about starting and my tires were still low. But we were able to get it going and get over to the hospital. The parking garage was crazy full and we ended up on the purple floor much to Levi's liking!!

After his appointment we were excited to find out that we got to go home!!! We headed over to David's House to pack up our stuff. Levi asked for a snack so we headed into the kitchen. Michael (I think) had been there baking during the day and there were freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen. We all set in the ice cream room and enjoyed a yummy cookie.
Then we headed upstairs to pack up our stuff. Levi was sad that we didn't get to stay at David's House for two nights since we had told him that we did. He doesn't like change of plans, and he likes to stay and play at David's House, plus he was getting tired.
We did finally get him moving and headed home. My tired pressure was still low so we stopped at the gas station to put air in. That was an adventure. I did the best I could but the light still wouldn't go out so we had a bit of a slower drive home, but that was ok. Levi fell asleep while I was filling the tires and slept until we were past Concord (a little over an hour)! The rest of the drive went smoothly and we got home safe!

Thanks again for everything David's House. We will be back at some point! Thanks for always being so accommodating.
