February 25-27 - David's House

February 25-27 - David's House

Jay had come over to David's House on the 25th to get checked in and then he came back over to sleep that night. We were in the Dog room, a new room for us!

On the 26th we all came over to David's House together. Levi was excited to be back in familiar surroundings. After getting discharged from the hospital we grabbed Taco's from Taco Bell and took them back to David's House to eat in the ice cream room. It was nice to see Jaye and Kathy again, and we talked to them for a few minutes.

Then it was nap time. Levi and I had both been up since 4am after a restless night at the hospital, so we headed upstairs. Jay got Levi to nap fairly quickly which is a sign that he is tired as he doesn't generally nap anymore and then I fell asleep as well. We both napped for almost 3 hours! Jay hung out downstairs for awhile.

Once he was awake Levi asked if he could go down to play and of course we said yes. Jay took him down giving me a few more minutes to rest and then wake up. I also called my family to keep them in the loop on what was going on.

Around 5:30 Levi came up and said that he was hungry. At that point we were unsure if there was going to be food at the house or not, so we started discussing where Jay could go get take out. We headed downstairs to check on food and sure enough there were a group for boys cooking dinner so we waited for that to finish and then had a yummy meal of BBQ chicken, Mac & cheese, and broccoli.
Levi ate almost his whole plate! YAY, his appetite is coming back! And then asked for dessert. There were not any baked goods, but we were able to find a rocket pop! And Levi was excited for that.
Then Levi headed out to play in the living room with the cars and busses and trains and such.
He found this new baby toy that is supposed to have keys to open the doors. There were no keys, but Levi figured out the mechanism on all but one of the doors and was able to get it open. The shape sorter was animals and shapes and he called them his kids. It was cute and he was having a blast!

Levi put on a show for his kids and then tucked them in to bed. Once they were in bed he told us taht we had to go downstairs so that we wouldn't wake them up. So down we headed. Once we were down there he whispered for about five minutes and told us that we had to be quiet so that we wouldn't wake up his kids. Once we convinced him that he could talk downstairs he asked if we could play games as a family. We played the chicken coop game first!
And then the Owl game.
They are great games fora  kid his age. Fairly short and good cooperative work! Levi was getting a little more energy at that point and asked if we could play ball. So him and I rolled the ball for awhile back and forth. He is getting much better at rolling the ball!
Then he wanted to play with the suction cups and so we set them all up and made some cool shapes with them. It's neat to see his imagination work with different things now.
Before long it was time for bed and stories. Levi asked for a bed time story for his kids so we set in the ice cream room and read an elephant and piggy book to him and his kids.
I thought this would be the end of the "kids" but he insisted that they had to come up to bed with us. I said sure so we up we headed with his kids in tow.

Levi asked if I could heat up froggy, so I took him downstairs and warmed him up while Levi was getting ready for bed. It's always strange to put a stuffed animal in the microwave.
We had set up the room at some point to add a cot for Levi. It was close quarters, but the house was full and we were just greatful to have a room that we didn't care. Jaye had offered earlier to move us to the pig room, but I didn't want to take two rooms and make them clean them both, so I said that we would make it work, and we we did.
After more stories it was time to say good night. It took quite awhile for Levi to fall asleep, but he finally did and Jay and I headed downstairs for some adult time. Which turned into quite the adventure for Jay when he put out a fire in the cigarette butt container (no neither of us smoke, eww!! but someone asked us who to contact because it was smoking/on fire, I helped the person get the number for Kim who was on call, while Jay got a bucket of water and went out to put the fire out!)

The next morning Levi climbed in my bed at 6am and I thought that was going to be the end of sleep, but he cuddled up with me and quickly fell back to sleep until my alarm went off at 7am. It was nice! Though did make for a bit of a hectic morning. On the way out Levi asked if we could warm up froggy again, so he came in to the kitchen and we warmed him up together.
Then we headed over to clinic.

After clinic we came back over and packed up our stuff, Levi played for a few more minutes, checked on his kids again, and put on another show. And then we headed home!!
