June 11 - Blood Work

June 11 - Blood Work

Good Morning!!! We made it thru the weekend. Levi had an amazing time at his birthday party and VIP after party! I am so glad that we were able to hold both without worrying and that the rest of the weekend was uneventful. It was very nice.

Since Levi's last official count was under 100 we have to not only do blood work but also get results before he can go to school today. Although we expect no issues and that all counts will be fine today, we have to make sure. What that means is that we get to spend a Levi and Mommy morning!

We got to the lab and Levi checked out his fountain as per usual! He was pretty excited about it today. Here he is checking out the light, and telling me that the light is ok, because it has plastic over it and the water can't get to it. Sometimes he is too smart for my own good!
Then we headed over to the lab. When I checked in with P I explained our situation about him not being able to go to school until we have results. P immediately called T, her supervisor, and explained the situation and T said she would personally walk the results thru and make sure that all was good.

The draw went off without a hitch and Levi was off to the treasure box. Today he picked a green super bear for me. He already has one for himself, but he wanted me to have one too! It was so sweet of him!
Then we were off to Friendly's for Mommy and Levi breakfast! He got to start with green ice-cream! The server saw his band-aid from blood work and asked if he had gotten stuck. Levi said that he had had blood work. The server, not realizing that Levi does this all the time, said "oh I am so sorry!" and then said he would hook him up! And boy did he. I ordered a single scoop of ice cream with sprinkles, and he must have gotten at least 2 scoops and enough sprinkles to drown the ice cream. Levi loved it though!!!
And yes, for all those concerned, he did have a real breakfast too! Pancakes and sausage which he ate quite well!
About 50 minutes after leaving the lab his counts finally came in. His count is 197!! Woo Hoo!! This crisis is officially over and we can go back to life as normal!!! :)

I headed off to school to drop him off. His head teacher wanted to talk to me about things as this particular event was very scary for all involved. I explained to her that I agree it was scary. That it was scary for us as well, and that no there are no signs or symptoms that we haven't shared, and that no, none of us were expecting his counts to come back crazy low or of course he wouldn't have been at school. She is definitely pretty freaked out again. Hopefully things will settle down a little. I totally understand her fear though. There is nothing that makes sense about this disorder and I just want to scream about that sometimes!!

Hopefully his counts will continue to increase and all will be well and we can level out for awhile and settle in for a bit! We have a busy few months coming up!
